Wednesday Stuffs


All righty. So this week we've got the last chapter of xxxHolic before a freaking three week break. Damn it. Oh well. Volume 47 will come soon enough. So on that note, I'll begin with Tsubasa.


Tsubasa starts with a nice splash page of (what I assume is) real Syaoran with his sword from CCS. I'm still not sure I'm on the real Syaoran is CCS Syaoran grown up more. I don't really think it fits. In any case, I hope he's not the same. We continue with Sakura's quest. She's still being all buff. Scaling cliffs, bloodying up her fingers as she slides down said cliff. Awesome. Fay wakes up with creepy eye and uses Kurogane's full name. Which more or less concerns Kurogane about the random personality change. Fay has a wee chat with Yuuko with Mokona napping on his lap (so cute!). He kind of freaks out when he's told Sakura went outside on her own. Switch back to Sakura and we see her finding what she's looking for: an egg.


Skip over to xxxHolic. I was kind of hoping that this chapter wouldn't skip ahead to healing Watanuki up and we'd get to know a little more about what Doumeki's blood is going to do for Watanuki, but that's not the case. They leave Doumeki wherever he was and ignore him, choosing to discuss more of Himawari and, as it turns out, Watanuki was out from the last chapter for six days. Which puts this timeline ahead of the Tsubasa timeline. So Yuuko gives to Watanuki the egg that Sakura just found. Unless I read wrong, it's Watanuki's payment for fetching the water that Yuuko gave to the people in the X world. I could be wrong though. In any case, Watanuki gets the egg and it even hatches in the same chapter. Turns out it's a Peep. Yeah, that's the first thing I thought when I saw this. It's cute, to be sure. But it still reminds me of a Peep. Aaaaaand that's it. No more xxxHolic until the end of October. Makes me sad. I wonder if we'll ever know what became of Doumeki, left in the hallway. To die. In the rain. Oh well.


So here we go: TRC ch. 130 and again, and xxxHolic ch. 120 and again. Enjoy!


PS: My copy of CLAMP Newtype just came in. Wow it's pretty.

Ahh, Lets forgive them since we have to find more about Himawari ^_^. We don't have "Himawari-centric" chapter except this. But gaaah! Why leave Doumeki like that?! XP

We do need to discover more of Himawari, but. But. Doumeki bloodied-up in the hallway just outside! Did they just let him sit there for the week? For serious. Maybe he woke up a day later or something, realized he was lying all bloodied up in a vacant lot (he only needed that one wish after all, so I wonder if he can still see the shop anymore), and dragged his sorry self home to lick his wounds alone. Which would be sad. Poor boy.

Thank you so much!!!! (Is this the first time Holic has been ahead of Tsubasa? It's always been slightly behind/the same before, hasn't it?)

I can't believe CLAMP are leaving Holic like this for 3 weeks...its worse than THE GAP we had in Tsubasa after certain major character mutilations.

and we have to wait more what happened to Doumeki ;_;

Aw, that would have been too harsh if the break started after last week's chapter. But it did seem like a good ending place. But in any case. More xxxHolic is always good. Now to have patience to wait out the break.

I think this is the quickest the crossovers have overlapped between the two series, at least this means Sakura will make it back alright. The bird is so cute though! ^_^

Thank you very much for this chapter.

It's too bad there were no DxW this week. I was expecting Watanuki to confront Doumeki or at least thank him for saving him. Why is it that all Watanuki cares for is Himawari? I like Himwari but three chapters dedicated for her? Does Watanuki even realize that Doumeki is hurt just outside the room?

Oh well, looking forward to this next chapter in a month...and hopefuly see DxW, if not, i just want to see Doumeki at least.

Timeline skipping is never fun. Both chapters seemed pretty boring this week, but I'm totally rooting for Sakura after seeing her nearly tear her fingernails off.

Wow, I completely forgot it was Wednesday. Thanks for the scans! You have officially made my week.

Thanks also for your offer of Chicago info. I really appreciate it. I'd just like to know where this bookstore of Japan-import-awesomeness is, and if there's anything else you think I shouldn't miss in a 3- or 4-day visit. I did go to the Field Museum the only other time I was there. ^_^

Maybe all Doumeki's blood did for Watanuki was to keep him alive. I can't decide if I think that would fit with Clamp being twisty or not.

That bird may be the cutest thing in all of Clamp. While we wait for the next chapter we can mull over what Yuuko said about Watanuki changing people at the end, if I read my kanji right.
